Gymkhanas
Kit Carson Riding Club has eight to ten Gymkhanas on Saturday nights starting around Memorial Day and ending around Labor Day.
Gymkhanas
All gymkhana events are open to the public, are super exciting and a lot of fun! Participants vary from small children being led by their parents on their horses to serious barrel racers honing their skills. Everyone is encouraged to attend as a spectator or participant. Gymkhanas are one of the club’s favorite pastimes in the summer, whether it is visiting over dinner, watching the action, or having fun with your horse(s). During gymkhanas, the concession stand is open and you will not find a better burger in town!
For the more serious competitor, the Kit Carson Riding Club gymkhanas are a buckle series for KCRC members. Points are recorded through the season and tracked by the Gymkhana committee for placing’s 1st through 5th. At the December Awards Banquet/Christmas party, the High Point and Reserve High Point for each age group are presented with their awards.
The age group you ride in will be the age you are as of January 1st of that year. This is in compliance with the CCHA rule book.
